Butler Process

We’ve refined our pre-construction and build process to take the guesswork and stress out of home renovating. Our structured 7-step process keeps your project on schedule, on budget and completely transparent every step of the way.

Our Process

1. Inquiry: First Contact.

Client reaches out via online form, phone, or email to share initial project ideas and location details.

2. Initial Conversation: Alignment & Scope.

An introductory call to discuss high-level goals, overall timeline expectations, and general budget range.

3. Site Visit: On-Site Assessment.

In-person evaluation of the home to inspect existing structural conditions, measure dimensions, and identify potential site challenges.

4. Detailed Proposal: Transparent Scope.

Delivery of a comprehensive project proposal outlining a clear, line-item scope of work, timeline, and investment breakdown.

5. Pre-Construction: Blueprint & Approvals.

A structured 6-part setup phase to ensure seamless execution before hammers fly:

  • Design & Plans: Develop design concepts and preliminary architectural layouts.

  • Budget Estimation: Refine cost line-items against real design selections.

  • Material Selection: Select fixtures, finishes, flooring, tile, and custom millwork.

  • Consultant Coordination: Direct collaboration with structural engineers, architects, and city consultants.

  • Construction Schedule: Map out the complete day-by-day project timeline.

  • Permitting: Handle and secure all necessary city building and trade permits.

6. Construction: Build Phase.

Site prep, framing, rough-ins, drywall, tile, custom cabinetry, and precision trim installation managed on schedule and budget.

7. Final Walk-Through: Project Hand-off.

Pass final city inspections, conduct a detailed client walkthrough, sign off on the punch list, and hand over the keys (and grab a box of tissues because we’re going to miss each other).

Each phase builds on the previous, enabling cumulative insight and continuous optimization.
